New York Fashion Week - Spring/Summer Collection 2014

Strut your stuff, fashion week is underway! Kicking off in NYC, the new trend for women's apparel for SS '14 seems to be "smorty" (mix-up of smart and sporty!).
After looking at many different shows and loving most of them, I narrowed my favorite down to five.. in no particular order!

#1. Sass and Bide

After returning back to the NYFW catwalk, Sass and Bide came back with a very sassy collection! Every piece was extra ordinary however my favorite look is the second one for sure. The high-neck blouse with bold print skirt go fabulous together.

#2. Zuhair Murad

Being a massive fan of Zuhair Murad's designs, I was extremely excited to see this collection the most, and as usual, wasn't disappointed. His pieces are so beautiful and always carry the feminine haute couture look. I was ecstatic when I saw orange in Murad's SS '14 collection as orange has been my hottest colour this summer.

#3. Victoria, Victoria Beckham

Well well well, Viccy B did it again with her clean cuts and fresh spring looks. The models carried the androgynous flawlessly. This collection was more laid back than her previous one, obviously following the SS 14' sporty trend. David and baby Harper made it front row giving their nod of approval. Even Anna Wintour cracked a smile!

#4. Vera Wang

In this collection, Wang mixed it up with carrying the sports-luxe theme by having mesh bomber jackets, pony-tails and headbands along with a touch of billowing chiffon's and embellishment to keep the original Vera Wang vibe going. The dresses look ladylike and elegant yet have the edginess of the racer-back neckline which I absolutely love!

#5. 3.1 Phillip Lim

Saving the best 'til last, the designer everyone's been talking about right now, 3.1 Phillip Lim sends his models out dressed out in tapered trousers and masculine tops. Lim got simple yet effective down to a T.. No pun intended.
